Terms of Service

These are the terms that govern your use of Driftlog. We have written them in plain language because we are developers too, and we know that nobody reads legal documents written in 14th century English.

The short version

Use Driftlog honestly, do not try to break it or use it to harm anyone, pay for the plan you are on, and we will do our best to keep it running reliably and treat your data with respect. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.

Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to anyone who creates a Driftlog account or accesses any part of the Driftlog service at driftlog.dev. By using Driftlog, you are agreeing to these terms. If you are using Driftlog on behalf of a company, you are agreeing to these terms on behalf of that company.

What Driftlog actually does

Driftlog connects to your code repositories via GitHub or GitLab, runs static analysis on your code using predefined architectural rules, and surfaces violations as pull request comments, dashboard entries, and notifications. We store violation metadata including file paths, line numbers, rule identifiers, and timestamps. We do not store your source code. We never read your source code beyond what is necessary to perform the analysis, and we do not retain it after the analysis is complete.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you share access with your team, you are responsible for how your team uses the account. You must provide accurate information when signing up. You must be 16 or older to create an account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Driftlog to do anything illegal, harmful, or that would interfere with other users. Specifically, do not attempt to access data belonging to other organizations, reverse engineer the service, use automated tools to scrape or abuse the API beyond normal usage, or resell access to the service without our written permission.

Paying for Driftlog

Paid plans are billed in advance, either monthly or annually depending on what you selected. Prices are in USD. We use Paystack to process payments, which means your payment details go directly to them, not to us. If you downgrade or cancel, you keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. We do not offer refunds for partial periods, but if something genuinely went wrong, reach out and we will figure it out.

Our right to change things

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Driftlog after the changes take effect means you accept the new terms.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may also suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. On termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Liability

Driftlog is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
